Space it out
Introduction:
This game requires a computer rooms and ideally 1 computer per person or pair.
What is learnt?
Punctuation, Syntax, Using computers in English, Clause coordination.
Preparation:
Type into your word processor a text that the group has already read and find fairly hard. Then remove all the punctuation and all the spaces between the words.
How the game is played:
- You can have up to three students round each computer - ideally you will have one computer per student as most people prefer to word-process on their own, if there is a choice.
- Tell the students to space and punctuate the text.
- Go round and help with things they can't sort out and explain words they don't know.
